About Us

Walkern Katatdjin (Rainbow Knowledge) is led by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBTQA+ researchers, Aboriginal researchers, and LGBTQA+ researchers. Our team is based in the Youth Mental Health Team, Kids Research Institute Australia; Kulbardi Aboriginal Centre, Murdoch University; Kurongkurl Katitjin, Edith Cowan University; and School of Population and Global Health, University of Western .

This project is overseen by a Youth Advisory Group made up of Aboriginal LGBTQA+ young people, and a Governance Committee made up of respected Aboriginal LGBTQA+ figures in the local community.

The Governance Committee oversees the Walkern Katatdjin project design, procedures, data management, and translation of findings to ensure meaningful impacts from the project.

​

Members of the Youth Advisory Group guide the research design, recruitment, data analysis, reports and publications and data management. ​

​

We are looking for people who are committed to improving the health and wellbeing of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBTQA+ mob to join our Governance Committee and Youth Advisory Group.
